There is no such thing as "artificial gravity." It is real gravity that makes people "stick" to the wall of a rotating ship.
Let me try to explain my interpretation of Einstein's theory very simplistically.
The force of gravity makes an object have a certain type of motion, and the object will resist changes in this motion. In a free-floating (or free falling) station in space in orbit, that motion -- relative to the space station -- is motion of zero acceleration. Relative to a planet, its motion will be an ellipse: the object is accelerating.
If the object is in a spinning station, the station is forcing the object to "violate" its zero acceleration relative to the ship. It is being forced to change the direction of its velocity continuously. The object does not "want" to do that. The force of gravity wants it to go in a straight line. It resists this because of gravity.
So it is gravity that forces the object up against the wall. The gravity is not artificial -- it is real.
