Gravity Part 14

George just applies the Gravity principle relative to his observations (or measurements). Gravity was holding the apple tightly in front of George; the apple wanted to stay with zero speed; and then you came along and wanted to accelerate it an amount of 32 UPWARDS relative to George. The apple did not want that, so George saw that a force had to be exerted on the apple to make it accelerate upwards, mainly from your hand.

Notice that as an observer applying the laws of Physics, George is exactly in the situation that people are when they are on ORBIT or just floating in space. When you are on the International Space Station and are trying to move around big, bulky objects, it is GRAVITY that gives them their resistance to a change in motion.

In other words, it is GRAVITY that gives objects their mass.
