But don't objects get their mass from the Higgs Field, and gravity is just another separate force field? Then why, in General Relativity, are accelerating observers the same as observers at rest on the surface of a planet?
Think about it. Why does gravity give an object its weight? What is weight other than an object "wanting" to be accelerated by gravity but an external force is needed to stop it? I just generalize the principle to one that obeys the theory of RELATIVE MOTION and posit that:
