He talks about how she hooks up with other men, where she walks and how promiscuously she dresses up to meet men. Here, we find out that it is a prostitute that he was in love with, who uses an alias with her clientele.

"Like a gangster
On the run
You will stagger homeward
To your precious one."
After her "criminal" work day is over, she always comes back to him, drunk, to the only person who really cares about her.

"I'm the one
Who must make everything right
Talk it out till daylight."
He then spends all night with a drunk, speaking to her, trying to sooth her from her hellish day.
