In Newtonian Mechanics, an objects resists an acceleration. It "wants" to maintain its velocity. In a proper interpretation of General Relativity, an object resists a change in its free-fall "geodesic" motion. It "wants" to keep its gravitational acceleration. For instance, if you drop an apple, its geodesic motion is negative 32ft per sec per sec downwards and zero acceleration parallel to the surface. It will resist any change to this.
IT'S RESISTANCE, BOTH VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL, TO CHANGE THIS MOTION ARISES FROM GRAVITY. That is, both classical "weight" and "mass" are effects caused by the gravitational force interaction.
The HIGGS boson is not a factor.
Proving the Relativistic Energy-Momentum relation, the hard way and the easier way.
This adds the proof for the relativistic mass effects from motion, proving that gravity causes it.
